About this workshop: This Software Carpentry course is an intermediate course in Python focusing on data analysis and visualisation using the Pandas library. It starts with some basic information about Python syntax, the Jupyter notebook interface, and move through how to import CSV files, using the Pandas package to work with data frames, how to calculate summary information from a data frame, and a brief introduction to plotting. It also demonstrates how to work with databases directly from Python. Please see the course notes for further information or get in touch with us.
Some basic knowledge of Python is assumed (such as the Introduction to Python course). Knowledge of another programming language would also be suitable. IF you have any questions about this, please get in touch with us.

Who can attend?: This workshop is open to all staff and students from the National Oceanography Centre. Limited numbers are available for other organisations who collaborate with the National Oceanography Centre.
